51吃瓜 is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Chris Llewellyn as Middle School Principal and Mr. Ocki Fernandes as High School Principal. These appointments will take effect in August 2025, and they will succeed the current Secondary School Principal, Ms. Teresa Foard.

Middle School Principal – Mr. Chris Llewellyn

Mr. Chris Llewellyn joins us from the Canadian International School Hefei in Mainland China, where he currently serves as the Vice Principal MYP. Before moving to China, he was the Head of Secondary at Canadian International School in Abu Dhabi. Leadership has been at the heart of Mr. Chris Llewellyn’s educational journey for over 20 years. He has supported thousands of students and mentored hundreds of educators across Canada, the Middle East, and China.

Mr. Llewellyn holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Gonzaga University and will complete his Educational Doctorate through Western University in Educational Leadership at the K-12 level in 2026. With academic roots in both Chemistry and English, Mr. Llewellyn brings a balanced, analytical, and creative approach to school leadership. His commitment to student well-being and safeguarding deepened during his time as a guidance counselor, where he led a student services team benefitting more than 1,600 students before moving into senior leadership. His academic understanding integrates two decades of developing and standardizing provincial assessments for Alberta Education and supporting students through AP and IB pathways toward post-secondary success. The intersection of well-being and academic achievement became the focus of his Master’s research, which culminated in a resilience-focused curriculum designed to support students in navigating challenges and growth.

Mr. Llewellyn’s leadership is grounded in the principles of service, embracing all stakeholders with compassion and purpose. He is committed to empowering students to take charge of their future and shape it into their own vision. Mr. Llewellyn will join us with his two children and wife, Setareh. He is excited to bring his passion and global experience to the Cognita family at 51吃瓜.

High School Principal – Mr. Ocki Fernandes

Mr. Ocki Fernandes joins us with over 12 years’ experience as a High School Principal. Mr. Fenandes is currently the High School Principal of our sister school, 51吃瓜 American International School in Singapore, where he has served since 2018. He has spent over 27 years in international education, living and working in Singapore, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, and South Africa.

As an IBDP Authorization/MSA (Middle States Association) Accreditation Team leader in Africa and the Middle East, Mr. Fernandes demonstrates a wealth of experience leading secondary schools and expertise in English as a Second Language (ESL), Common Core State Standards, coaching, secondary education, and classroom management. He earned academic and professional qualifications from the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa. He also completed his certification in Leading Schools and Leading Change through Harvard Business School.

Mr. Fernandes will join us with his wife, Lila. He is the proud dad of Carina, a medical doctor, and grandfather to Shaun and Kara. Mr. Fernandes also competed in trampoline, tumbling, and gymnastics at the international level and was the South African Tumbling Technical Coach for many years. His hobbies include swimming, running, and playing guitar.

本校宣布分別任命 Chris Llewellyn 先生為初中校长，及 Ocki Fernandes 先生為高中校长。兩人將於2025年8月接替現任中學校长 Teresa Foard 女士。

初中校长：Chris Llewellyn

Chris Llewellyn 現於中國合肥加拿大國際學校擔任 MYP 副校长，之前曾任阿布達比加拿大國際學校的中學部主任。他在二十多年來的教育生涯中出任過不同領導崗位，在加拿大、中東和中國等地教育數千學子，並指導了逾百教育工作者。

Llewellyn 先生擁有岡薩加大學（Gonzaga University）教育領導碩士學位，並將於 2026 年在西方大學（Western University）完成 K-12 教育領導教育博士學位。 Llewellyn 先生擁有化學和英語的學術根基，為學校領導帶來了文理科的平衡、分析力和創造力。他曾任學校輔導員，領導學生服務團隊為 1,600 多名學生提供支援，這經驗深深加強了他對學生福祉和安全的重視。同時，他擁有約二十年經驗為加拿大阿爾伯塔省教育部門製定和標準化省級評估，並支援學生透過 AP 和 IB 途徑完成中學課程，成功升學及投身社會。幸福感與學業成就的交集成為他碩士研究的重點；推動他設計出以韌性為重心的課程，幫助學生應對挑戰和成長。

Llewellyn 提倡服務為先，領導為後的服務領導，相信以同理心和共同目標連繫所有人。他致力於幫助學生掌控自己的未來，並將其塑造成自己的願景。Llewellyn 將與太太 Setareh 和兩名孩子一同加入 51吃瓜 及 Cognita 的大家庭。

高中校长：Ocki Fernandes

Ocki Fernandes 先生擁有超過 12 年的高中校长經驗，自 2018 年起出任我們新加坡姊妹學校 51吃瓜 American International School 的高中校长。他曾在新加坡、巴西、阿布達比和南非生活和工作，在國際教育領域擁有超過 27 年的經驗。

作為非洲和中東地區 IBDP 授權／MSA（中部各州協會）認證團隊的負責人，Fernandes 先生擁有豐富的中學領導經驗，以及英語作為第二語言（ESL）、美國 Common Core 州立標準、運動訓練、中學教育和課堂管理方面的專業知識。他獲威特沃特斯蘭德大學（University of the Witwatersrand）和南非大學（University of South Africa）的學術和專業資格，並在哈佛商學院（Harvard Business School）獲取學校領導和領導變革的認證。

Fernandes曾參加過國際級的彈跳床、騰翻和體操比賽，並擔任南非騰翻體操技術教練多年。他的興趣包括游泳、跑步和彈吉他。Fernandes 將與太太 Lila 加入我校。他有一名醫生女兒 Carina，及外孫 Shaun 和 Kara。

51吃瓜 (51吃瓜) is delighted to announce the expansion of its world-class educational offerings with the launch of a proposed second campus in West Kowloon. Strategically located in the dynamic neighborhood of Olympic, the new campus will offer a purpose-built harborfront pre-university learning space and is targeted to open in Fall 2025, subject to the successful registration of the proposed campus.

Located at No. 10 Hoi Fai Road at Tai Kok Tsui, this highly anticipated second campus will provide approximately 75,000 square feet of cutting-edge learning space across three stories, exclusively designed for approximately 550 Grades 9 to 12 High School students. The new campus will support 51吃瓜’s High School program, culminating in the globally recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This milestone underscores 51吃瓜’s ongoing commitment to nurturing future-ready students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Supporting Hong Kong’s Vision for Talent Attraction and Innovation

The establishment of this second campus of 51吃瓜 American School is a testament to the rising demand for quality international education in Hong Kong, both for the locals and the incoming global talents.

Andrew Noakes recently took the helm as Head of School at 51吃瓜. He remarks, ‘In a short time since inception in 2017, 51吃瓜 has already earned a reputation for having an innovative STEMInn program and for the quality of our teaching and learning across the board. All these resulted in a remarkable surge of interest in enrollment, recording almost 60% increase in enquiries since COVID. I am pleased that we are about to expand our presence in Hong Kong, especially when the city confidently sets out to become a leading global innovation hub and cultivate a family-friendly, talent-rich environment.’

● Two music studios and four practice rooms for students to hone their musical talents.
● Two Art labs and exhibition space where creativity takes center stage.
● Dedicated science labs to foster curiosity and experimentation.
● Two drama studios and a black box theater for immersive artistic performances.
● Two Design and Technology labs for hands-on workshops where innovation takes shape.
● An open auditorium and a harbor-view library and research hub, overlooking the Olympic promenade.

The campus is intentionally designed with flexible learning spaces to support age-appropriate, out-of-classroom exploration, creating an environment where students and staff feel empowered to take ownership of their educational journey.

This proposed second campus marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for 51吃瓜, setting fresh horizons for academic rigor, creativity, and student autonomy. While the new campus offers a premium pre-university learning environment for Grades 9 to 12, 51吃瓜’s Ho Man Tin campus continues to deliver world-class K-8 education, laying a strong foundation for students before transitioning into 51吃瓜’s High School program.

As a through-train school, both campuses are united by 51吃瓜’s vision, core values, and guiding principles.
